Director of Workforce Innovation

Harin Contractor is Director of Workforce Innovation at the Burning Glass Institute where he focuses on placed-based workforce development efforts. Prior to joining the Institute, Harin served as Director of Labor Policy for the National Economic Council at the White House, where he led numerous critical initiatives to advance issues related to workforce development and economic mobility.

Harin has nearly 20 years of experience across public policy, government, non-profit, and private sector roles. He is passionate about fighting poverty and inequality, promoting diversity and inclusion, and empowering communities of color. Harin holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and international affairs from the University of Georgia.
